Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil college of Engineering & Polytechnic started functioning in the year 1983 with Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering & Production Engineering courses on diploma side. But considering the demand of Electrical Engineers in highly growing electrical Energy sector, Electrical Engineering branch has been started from academic year 2010-2011.There are various job opportunities for Electrical Engineers in Government sectors such as Maharashtra State Electricity Board(MSEB),Indian defence services,Indian Railway, Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST),Irrigation, Public works Department,Private sectors in Electrical Industries And Renewable Energy generation Projects and Entrepreneurship. The department has well equipped Laboratories & dedicated young enthusiastic faculty,taking efforts for students. The all-around development of the personality of students of the department is the motive of department.The department is organizing series of Guest Lecture,Workshop, Seminars,Personality development programs, Entrepreneurship development program from Industry Experts, soft skill development institutes etc.
Number of M.O.U.s have been signed between the department and electrical industries and consulting firms. Frequent Industrial visits are arranged to make students familiar with Industrial work culture.Also students are motivated to attend vocational training in Industry and Maharashtra State Electricity Board. Different curricular & co-curricular events are organized through Electrical Engineering Student Association (EESA) which is helpful for development of organizing, management skills as well as leadership qualities of students. Such activities always uplifts the young generation and encourage them to acquire more knowledge, skills and information about curricular and co-curricular subjects. MSBTE, Mumbai has given "Excellent" gradation for three consecutive years from the establishment of department which is a remarkable achievement of department in a short journey of department Electrical Department has also worked as Project Institute for Development of laboratory manuals of three subjects, which was organized by Maharashtra State Board Of Technical Education. In short, in today's fast changing condition of life owing to scientific and technological advancement, department is trying to gear itself to moulding the younger generation into technical,practical expertisom whose capability and knowledge can match the word standard.
